Cory - I have been a fisherman all my life. Growing up in Bermuda gave me the taste for saltwater and my love and respect for the ocean. After returning to Canada at age eleven, I continued my Love of fishing in the rivers and lakes surrounding Winnipeg. I later moved to Calgary and the Bow River where I began fly fishing. After attaining my diploma in Engineering Drafting and Design, I opted for an office in the outdoors. I began my career as a professional guide at Scott Lake Lodge, where I have been working summers since 1993. In 2002, I started guiding out of Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica, where I fell in love with the country, the Golfo Dulce, and the fishing. Although I like catching them all, inshore and off, the Roosterfish became my favorite target. As the years passed I concentrated more on larger Roosters, becoming proficient at catching trophy size of 40-75lbs. In 2007, with five seasons of fishing the Gulf, it’s time to start our own charter business. Cara - Cara is a born and raised Canadian prairie girl with a love of the outdoors, travel, and people. After graduating with a Bachelor of Education from the U of S, Cara found a passion for traveling, experiencing the world and meeting new people. She has traveled Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and all of Central America. Cara has also lived in Panama and the Dominican Republic, working in private international schools. We met and fell in love while traveling in Costa Rica in 2001. Tosh - Tosh was born in 2004 just outside of San Jose, Costa Rica. He is a magical child and has added so much joy to our lives. He is a true beach baby and loves the water, the outdoors and, of course, the fish. Tosh loves nothing more than exploring his outdoor play land wearing only a smile. As a family, we spend six months of the year in Costa Rica and return to Canada for the summer. Our property and home, located on the beach, 4 kilometers outside of Puerto Jimenez will be the site of our own cabinas in the near future. Our guests will then be able to stay with us and be provided with an even higher level of comfort and service. SPECIAL THANKSTo all my friends and family I am known as a fisherman, through and through. Some would say since birth. It has long been my dream to own and operate my own charter. Many people have supported me along the way. I would like to thank my loving partner Cara and my mother Elaine for their love and encouragement. I would also like to give a special thanks to my Aunt Mal and Aunt Brenda who believed in my dream and helped me get to this point. |
